More climate protection also means more electricity demand. This is clearly illustrated, for example, by the coalition agreement signed today in Rhineland-Palatinate, in which the traffic light parties have set themselves ambitious climate targets. Earlier, the green-conservative alliance in Baden-Württemberg adopted its new coalition agreement with similarly ambitious targets. “This will have a considerable impact on the electricity markets”, says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of aream Group. “Only renewable energy sources can meet the additional demand, which may lead to a temporary increase in electricity prices.”
Green electricity production in April 2021 was slightly above expectations. Wind generated 102 percent of the planned electricity, solar 101 percent. “The lower solar yield in Spain in particular dragged the figures down”, says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group.
On April 1, 2021, Elke Hanel joined the aream Group as an additional managing director. She is responsible for project development, with a focus on photovoltaics, at the company, which specializes in renewable energies.
Green power generation from solar energy was well above target in March 2021. Wind, on the other hand, blew less strongly than expected. "Overall, March was a good month for renewables," says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of aream Group.
