Production Statistics July Solar Strong, Wind Weak

Renewable energy production in July was very mixed: While photovoltaic systems reported a target achievement of 105 percent, wind turbines achieved 91 percent of their planned value. This can be seen from the current figures of the aream Group.

"In the production of solar power Germany with its 105 percent target achievement is clearly ahead of Spain, where only 91 percent of the target was achieved", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group. Italy with 108 percent was the leader in July. "It has been shown that the diversification of plants across regions leads to a smoothing of results and also makes investments focused on renewable energies significantly less volatile", says Voigt.

As in June, wind power production was below the target value; in line with the prevailing wind conditions, 91 percent of the target was reached. This means that the buffer from the first, very windy months of the year is slightly melting. "At the moment, we are still seeing wind power overperforming by ten percentage points in the first half of the year", says Voigt. "This makes it possible to reach the annual target even during further windless months in summer due to the expected stronger autumn months", says Voigt.

"It is clear once again that renewable energies can now be planned very well thanks to the expansion of the plant portfolio in various countries and segments", says Voigt.
