Renewable Energies: Production Statistics October 2020
9 Nov 2020, 10:20

The wind blew strongly in October 2020, driving electricity production from wind turbines to 129 percent of the expected target. Photovoltaics remained exactly within the target corridor with 100 percent output in Germany. "After several months in which the buffer from the spring melted away due to weak wind in the summer, wind is now delivering well above plan again", says Markus W. Voigt, CEO of the aream Group.

Internationally, too, the results of photovoltaics remained exactly in line with expectations: "Italy reported 100 percent of the target, in Spain it was 101 percent", says Voigt. "Looking at the year to date, solar plants with a mix of Germany, Italy and Spain have slightly exceeded their planned target with around 101 percent, wind plants in Germany are even a little higher with 107 percent", says Voigt.

Even if the production figures fluctuate from month to month: "In the course of the year, the results usually smooth out", says Voigt. "All the more so if a portfolio contains not only photovoltaic or wind power, but both energy investments combined." More and more investment opportunities are currently arising in the field of renewable energies. "This ranges from direct investments in plants even in the project development phase to private equity investments in start-ups in the field of clean energy."
