With our PowerOneForOne Foundation, founded in 2018, we were able to set another milestone last month. With the help of donations, we installed solar panels at Rwera Mixed Primary School/Unit for the Deaf in Ntungamo, Uganda. The school previously had only an outdated and insufficient power source, so that no light could be supplied in the evening hours. The plant has a capacity of 2.25 kWp, which enables it to generate approx. 2,800 kWh p.a.
For the PowerOneForOne Foundation, this is the second school for the deaf after the St. Bruno Vocational School in Isingiro to be equipped with solar cells.

Thanks to numerous donations, the boarding schools already have new classrooms, dining rooms with attached kitchens, dormitories and sanitary facilities. Furthermore, the children are now able to complete their education at the schools.

For the deaf, a supply of electricity is of special importance, because light is necessary for communication in sign language. In addition, it is now possible for the students to have their dinner with lights on and for the older, working students to be taught in the evening hours.

Our projects in Uganda are not yet completed. Next, solar cells will be needed for the dormitories of the boys and girls of Rwera Mixed Primary School.
